Woodland Garden: Our broad path slopes down into the woodland garden, guiding us past rhododendrons covered with bright blooms. ~ My Heart’s in the LowlandsWoodland Garden: Our broad path slopes down into the woodland garden, guiding us past rhododendrons covered with bright blooms. ~ My Heart’s in the Lowlands
Spring Garden: Our senses are assaulted with greenery: sweet-scented bushes and close-cropped hedgerows, colorful walled gardens and tall, leafy trees—all surrounded by a plush carpet of grass fairly begging for a picnic. ~ My Heart’s in the LowlandsSpring Garden: Our senses are assaulted with greenery: sweet-scented bushes and close-cropped hedgerows, colorful walled gardens and tall, leafy trees—all surrounded by a plush carpet of grass fairly begging for a picnic. ~ My Heart’s in the Lowlands
Cottage Garden: The gardens are densely planted and richly green. Color is used judiciously, as we might expect in a garden designed by a painter. ~ My Heart’s in the LowlandsCottage Garden: The gardens are densely planted and richly green. Walled Garden: The western horizon hung thick with rain that would soon water the elegant walled garden. ~ Thorn in My HeartWalled Garden: The western horizon hung thick with rain that would soon water the elegant walled garden. ~ Thorn in My Heart
Tulip Garden: We set forth into the gardens, sweetly scented and neatly edged with grass. A late display of showy tulips in red, pink, and purple fills in nicely. ~ My Heart’s in the LowlandsTulip Garden: We set forth into the gardens, sweetly scented and neatly edged with grass. Rosebay Willowherb: Bright green, slender leaves march up the long stalks toward rosy pink blossoms at the top, which will bloom again at summer’s end. ~ My Heart’s in the LowlandsRosebay Willowherb: Bright green, slender leaves march up the long stalks toward rosy pink blossoms at the top, which will bloom again at summer’s end. ~ My Heart’s in the Lowlands
Autumn Garden: Jamie watched his mother storm about the fading gardens. A crisp autumn wind rustled through the pines and sent a golden pile of rowan leaves swirling about his buckskin breeches and her billowing gray skirts. ~ Thorn in My HeartAutumn Garden: Jamie watched his mother storm about the fading gardens. These lovely gardens remind me of some in Portland, Oregon USA.
Same spring misty days, mild enough to grow almost anything.
Leana would have loved the Pacific Northwest!
